Building Cruising Skills
Once Tony retires in December, we will be able to begin further building our cruising skills by taking additional courses that will add to the qualifications and experience we have already obtained for both sailing on Carpe Diem in the Pacific Northwest and motoring on Tempus Fugit along the canals, rivers and coastal waters of Europe. We are particularly interested in adding to our capabilities by taking courses through the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Training Centres because they are widely recognized by waterway authorities and have a good reputation. Here is a link to the web site for one that operates out of Barcelona and Gibraltar and that has caught our interest. It has a slide show that gives a feel for its programs, facilities and the places where it conducts on the water training. For more on our evolving plans go to the page on Building Cruising Skills.
